What we do

We do the lot

Servicing, roadworthies, repairs, suspension, GVM kits and mod plates. If you are not sure whether it is something we handle, ring and ask. It usually is.

01

Logbook servicing

Your service done to the logbook, with every filter checked rather than skipped. Oil, air, cabin and fuel.

02

Roadworthy inspections

Safety certificates for cars and utes, sorted at the Urangan workshop so you can get on with the sale.

03

General mechanical repairs

The everyday stuff and the awkward stuff. If it has gone wrong, bring it in and we will have a proper look.

04

Brakes

Pads, rotors and the rest, checked and replaced before they start costing you something bigger.

05

Timing belts

Done on interval, not on hope. One of those jobs that is cheap on time and very expensive late.

06

Suspension

From tired shocks on a daily driver through to full upgrade kits for SUVs and 4x4s.

07

GVM upgrades and mod plates

GVM kits fitted and mod plated, so your tourer or work ute is legal for the weight you actually carry.

08

Diagnostics

Warning light on, running rough, something not right. Scanned and traced properly before anything gets replaced.

09

Aftermarket drawer kits

Touring drawers supplied and fitted in the back of the 4WD, squared away and solid.

10

Mobile appointments

Some jobs do not need the hoist. Ask about an appointment for mobile needs and we will come to you.

A cabin filter packed with leaves and grit held beside a clean replacement

Every service

Every filter gets checked

The one on the left came out of a car with low kilometres. It is still packed solid with leaves and grit, because the filters are the bit a quick service quietly skips.

Oil, air, cabin and fuel get looked at on every service here, and it gets done to the logbook so your warranty and your resale both stay intact. If something comes out looking like this, you get shown it.

Two heavily soiled filters laid out on the workshop floor
Drained oil and contaminant laid out on clean paper for inspection

Diagnostics

Found, then fixed

Parts get traced before they get replaced. Scanned, pulled down, and laid out so you can see what was actually wrong with it rather than taking a line on an invoice at face value.

A new fuel filter fitted into an engine bay

Fuel filters

Replaced on interval so the pump is not doing the filtering for you.

An oil filter housing cap coated in dirty oil, held in a gloved hand

Oil systems

Housings opened up and checked, not just spun off and spun back on.

A dismantled filter housing and two suction control valves laid out for comparison

Old against new

The worn part next to the replacement, so the reason for the bill is obvious.

A four wheel drive with bullbar and light bar up on the hoist at Autofix Hervey Bay

4WD and suspension

Set up for the weight you actually carry

Touring rigs and work utes get loaded well past what they left the factory expecting. We fit suspension upgrade kits for SUVs and 4x4s, including Outback Armour, and we do GVM kits with mod plates so the legal side is squared away too.

  • Suspension upgrade kits for SUVs and 4x4s
  • Outback Armour quality components
  • GVM upgrades fitted and mod plated
  • Aftermarket drawer kits supplied and fitted

About

Scott, and the shed on Southern Cross

Autofix is a small local business, run by Scott out of the unit on Southern Cross Circuit in Urangan. He started it himself, with his father looking over his shoulder, and his father has more than 48 years in the automotive industry behind him.

"I'm very attentive on jobs, care about quality and strive to achieve the best customer service possible, whilst saving you $$$ in the meantime."

Scott, Autofix Hervey Bay

That is most of the pitch, really. One bloke who does the work himself, cares what it looks like when it goes back out the door, and is happy for you to ring up and just compare a quote.

An Autofix Hervey Bay service reminder sticker on a windscreen, filled in by hand

Every car that goes through gets one of these on the screen, with what was done, the kilometres, and when it is due back. Written out by hand, because it is a small shop and that is how it should be.
